Soap Box Archives - November 2001

11/28/2001 Dr. Don Wiley disappeared and he is one of the world's leading experts in viruses like Ebola. With the terrorist groups threatening the United States, we had better find where he went and with whom.

Senator Leahy is a Bush Basher. "Citing President Bush's decision to allow military tribunals to try non-U.S. suspect terrorists, the Justice Department's decision to monitor phone conversations between attorneys and their clients in terrorism cases, and the widespread detention of possible suspects and immigration violators, Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vermont, said at a committee hearing that the Bush administration was going well beyond new anti-terrorism tools Congress granted in a bill passed in October." This excerpt from a CNN report is preposterous; not for reporting but for Patrick's attack on President Bush and his administration. I find no where in our constitution, or our bill of rights, or even in the Federalist Papers where non-citizens are granted any rights! All non-citizens are guests of our country, and if they attack us, we have every right to use any tool at our disposal to ferret out these terrorists and their supporters! Anyway, the Democrat President Truman used military tribunals and such, so Leahy should look in his own closet before throwing stones! I wonder what Ted is saying about this? Well, you can lead a Kennedy to water, but you can't, I mean don't, want to be in the car.

11/27/2001 Came home from work, put on some slippers and settled down with a nice Bailey's and coffee. I went to the 24/7 Rush site and sat back to watch Rush Limbaugh's Dittocam. About a third into the show, I was floored with an article he found (Yes, Virginia, Rush is all-knowing!). The environmentalists were responsible for the pre-mature collapse of the WTC twin towers! If it were not for them and the NYC City Council, the Twin Towers would have stood for 4 hours and allowed many more people to be rescued. The towers were designed to withstand the impact of a fully fueled 707 and remain standing a total of 4 hours before collapsing. The environmentalists protested against the processed asbestos that was to be used and the floors above the 63rd did not receive the fireproofing! Chills will run up and down your spine when you read this. Better yet, join Rush's 24/7 and see Rush comment on the article.

The second suit against bin Laden has been filed for the WTC terrorist attacks. Maybe the lawyers should also add the NYC City Council members and the environmental groups that were responsible for the premature collapse. It's class-action suit time!

11/26/2001 "Just say you're sorry and all is forgiven." I did not believe this could be happening as I read the article! Mullah Mohammed Khaqzar, who was one of the founders of the Taliban movement, defected. Now why would anyone accept his rather late-in-the-game renouncement of the Taliban regime? I think it's about time for a necktie party! Got Rope?

The strange happenings with airport security have me mystified. Atlanta airport was shut down and evacuated when a football fan, late for a flight, bypassed security. Now we have a person fire a rifle in an airport and everything goes on as if nothing happened. This person, who was going on a deer-hunting trip, attempted to show the ticket agent that the rifle was not loaded when he negligently discharged the weapon. The article stated that the "rifle accidentally went off". I can expect the liberal press to push the myth that firearms can "accidentally go off"; although they should be reporting that this was negligence. There is no such thing as an accident when it comes to firearms. Here is someone who should be fined $10,000 for being stupid. Yes, I am an NRA member and a firm proponent of firearm ownership and concealed-carry. I am also a rabid safety fan when it comes to handling firearms: Always treat firearms as though they are loaded!

A daycare center is penalized because nine green plastic army men were found. I believe that if children were allowed to act out "war games" with plastic soldiers, they would be a lot less likely to really act out their aggression in real life! You have to read the story to believe this!

11/21/2001 It appears that the Taliban have found a safe haven. They have found a place impregnable from the Justice Department and all the forces the U.S. government has at its disposal. It is also a nuclear-free zone, so we cannot even use our ultimate powers. "Wait a minute", you say, there is not a place that could fit that description, especially with the memory of the WTC Twin Towers fresh in our minds! Ahhhh, how wrong you are and it's right in our own back yard! I would have expected Berkley, but even those communists wouldn't dare do what the city of Portland, OR (naturally on the Left coast) has done. You see, Portland just invited all of the Taliban to come into the city where all its members would be free from questioning and reprisals. A CNN report from the Associated Press states: "Portland police have refused a U.S. Justice Department request for help in interviewing Middle Eastern immigrants as part of its sweeping terrorism investigation, saying it would violate state law." I must not be that informed, because I did not know that terrorism was legal in Portland, OR. The Portland Police (probably really by the liberal politicians controlling the police) have refused to help the Justice department question possible terrorist supporters. I can just see it now: Airplanes from all over the United States packed full of terrorists and terrorist supporters stacked up waiting to land in Portland where they can be free to spread their venom. I wonder, how close Portland is to the nearest B2 bomber base?

Maybe once the terrorists are there, we can secretly feed them coffee made of pig dung - after all, Matt Drudge reports people in Japan and the U.S. are buying coffee made from monkey dung!

11/17/2001 The Clinton's have not only supported gun control, but would take all the firearms away from all law-abiding citizens if the could. However, if MONEY was involved all of that is momentarily swept under the rug.

"Wang Jun is a shadowy, high-level communist official who also is chairman of Poly Group, another enterprise controlled by China's PLA." [People's Liberation Army] "Poly Group was mired in controversy in 1996 when it was revealed that Wang Jun had met Bill Clinton at the White House. Days after the meeting, the administration moved to waive customs restrictions and allowed the company to import semiautomatic rifles into the United States." Quoted from Bitter Legacy - NewsMax.com Reveals The Untold Story Of The Clinton-Gore Years, edited by Christopher Ruddy & Carl Limbacher, Jr.

I highly recommend this book.

I wish to thank Tennessee for giving this to me at Mil's tonight:

The following was attributed to State Representative Mitchell Kaye from GA.

You May find it interesting:

"We, the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid any more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt-ridden, deluded, and other Liberal Bed-wetters. We hold these truths to be self-evident that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim that they require a Bill of No Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom and that freedom means freedom for everyone - not just you! You may leave the room, change the channel, express a different opinion, etc., but the world is full of idiots, and probably will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to demand that our children risk their lives in foreign wars to soothe your aching conscience. We hate oppressive governments and won't lift a finger to stop you from going to fight if you'd like. However, we do not enjoy parenting the entire world and do not want to spend so much of our time battling each and every little tyrant with a military uniform and a funny hat.

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want all of you to have one, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.

ARTICLE X: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to pursue happiness - which, by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an overabundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of Rights.

If you agree, we strongly urge you to forward this to as many people as you can. No, nothing tragic will befall you should you not forward it. We just think it is about time common sense is allowed to flourish - call it the age of reason revisited.

Thanks!
